​​​​​​​​​​​Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs)

C​hild Advocacy Centers use Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) of professionals to minimize stress and provide a coordinated, efficient, timely response to child abuse.

MDTs prioritize the child's safety and mental health, ensuring that children and affected family members receive the necessary support they need. Trained professionals support the victim and affected family members throughout the entire process. The MDT response also ensures that children receive referrals to social service agencies, specialists, and other resources as needed.

Child Advocacy Centers are a safe space for children to speak and be heard in the language they feel most comfortable using. At the KCCAC, bilingual Spanish-speaking professionals are available to provide the best possible support and culturally-sensitive care for child victims and family members.
