Child Advocacy Center

Mental Health Services

Part of the Child Advocacy Center response is evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health service referrals to social service agencies in Kane County. A Child Advocacy Center's mission includes assisting children and families through the healing process, while taking the necessary steps to address and prevent any further trauma.

Healing from the complex trauma caused by child abuse and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can be a life-long process that requires compassion, empathy and patience as children learn how to reconnect with their bodies and their sense of self. Victims and affected family members or guardians are referred to mental health counseling and specialized assessments as needed to third-party service providers and specialists in Kane County.

Please visit the following resources if you need immediate mental health assistance.
As always, if you suspect someone's life is in immediate danger, please call 911.
